With so many components, Mercedes-Benz service can feel complex. However, we make it as streamlined as possible with ‘A’ and ‘B’ service schedules. Mercedes-Benz of Lynnwood is outlining both options to help you determine which one you need.
Service A Components
Your vehicle’s recommended maintenance schedule includes each of the tasks that your vehicle needs to perform optimally. It’s also designed to prevent undue wear, such as engine damage or blowouts on the road. The Service A maintenance includes:
- Oil change
- Oil filter replacement
- Fluid level checks and corrections
- Tire inflation checks and corrections
- Brake inspection
Service B Components
Service B appointments are more detailed and include even more maintenance tasks. They have all the components of the Service A schedule. Then, they also include a cabin dust/combination filter replacement and a brake fluid exchange.
Recommended Service Schedules
Each option has its own recommended service example. Service A, for example, requires service at one year or 10,000 miles (whichever comes first). Moving forward, you’ll need to schedule service every two years or 20,000 miles. Service B, on the other hand, requires service every two years or 20,000 miles, which means your schedules will be alternating.
Maintenance Reminders
While both schedules are fairly similar, since Service B requires more tasks, it can take longer. If you’re uncertain which schedule is approaching, check your mileage to see which maintenance schedule it aligns with. You can also check your vehicle’s information center, which shows you which maintenance visit is approaching.
