three Mercedes-Benz models in winter

While we typically don’t have blistering winters, it’s still important to prepare for the season. That includes scheduling preventative Mercedes-Benz service at our service center. Mercedes-Benz of Lynnwood is outlining the service you need to get ready for winter.

Replace Your Windshield Wipers

Even though we don’t get a lot of snow, we’re certainly no strangers to rain, particularly in the winter. As the temperatures drop, your windshield wipers can become brittle and prone to breaking. We recommend replacing your wipers now, so you have a strong pair to properly clear your windshield in case of a sudden change in the weather.

Inspect Your Tires

All that moisture can make the roads slick, especially if it gets icy. Your tires need to have at least 4/32 of an inch of tread to ensure you have the traction you need to maintain control. If you haven’t recently, you should also rotate your tires, which minimizes uneven wear.

Test Your Battery

Car batteries and cold weather aren’t always compatible. Since the cold is a strain on your battery, now is a good time to have your battery tested. When we test your battery, we’ll also make sure that it’s clean and look for any unusual wear or corrosion.

Check Your Fluids

Pre-winter is also an opportune time to check your vehicle’s fluids to make sure they’re all at least at the minimum recommended level. If they’re due for a replacement, that should be done now as well. Your vehicle’s fluids can include engine oil, transmission fluid, coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and windshield wiper fluid.
