A Refined New Look For A Chiseled Car

The second generation of the evolutionary crossover is here. Standing 4.1 inches taller and adding 1.1 inches to the wheelbase has given the 2021 GLA passengers more room to enjoy its 221 horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter engine. For those who opt for the AMG® 45 variant you will be greeted by the most powerful production 4 cylinder in the world. This engine boasts 382hp and 354 Ib-ft of torque. Every engine is handcrafted in Affalterbach Germany along the plants one man, one engine production line. With this much power and the likelihood of finding yourself on the racetrack, the new rear wheel differential along with two electronically controlled muli-disc clutches, power can be selectively distributed between all four wheels optimizing traction.

The new GLA has dialed back its exaggerated and dominating lines in favor of softer edges. The new lines take a step back and allow the dynamic headlights to take over in front while the new prominently horizontal tail lights dominate in the rear. A new grille adds to the serious look of the new GLA bringing it in line with the new design features of the current generation of Mercedes-Benz. If you opt for the AMG® package you will find a fearsome addition of the Panamericana grille, the same grille that is found on the AMG® GT.
